16th February 2012.

To,

The President/Secretary General,

ITGOA, New Delhi.

Comrade,

Sub: General Strike on 28th February, 2012-reg.

--------------------------------------------------

Kindly refer to your letter No.ITGOA (CHQ)/JCA/2011-12 dated 12.2.2012 on the captioned subject

As already communicated to you by the Confederation the 28th February, 2012 general strike is going to be an historic one as all the major trade unions including INTUC and BMS and independent Federations representing various sections of the working people have decided to join the strike action. Along with the common issues of outsourcing, contractorisation, PFRDA bill, price rise etc, the Confederation is also demanding wage revision from 1.1.2011, merger of 50% DA etc in its Charter of demands which have direct impact on Central govt. Employees. While appreciating your decision to stage a walkout, it will be in the fitness of things if we could bring about a united action of Officers and non-gazetted employees by joining the strike action under the banner of JCA. It is therefore once again requested to explore the possibility of ITGOA joining the strike action on 28th of February, 2012.

In so far as the joint action on departmental issues are concerned as mentioned in your letter dated 31-12-2011, we stand by the decision of the Central JCA meeting held on 24.12.2011 at New Delhi. You will appreciate the fact that we are in the midst of the preparation of our All India Conference which is slated to take place from 21st to 24th February, 2012. The Conference will deliberate the issues of concern to our members and decide future course of action and we assure you that we will be together in the struggles for achieving our just demands under the banner of JCA.

With greetings,

Yours fraternally,

Sd/

(Ashok B. Salunkhe)

Secretary, General.
